Governmental Advocacy
A collective voice for independent providers in the rules that govern our trades — licensing, regulation, and workforce policy at every level of government.
How we advocate →NAIHSP is the professional association for independent home service providers — the contractors and trades businesses that keep America's homes running. We stand for our members through governmental advocacy, continuing education, professional certification, and sound environmental stewardship.

About the association
Independent contractors and trades businesses built the home service industry — but working alone means facing regulators, rising costs, and changing codes alone. NAIHSP brings independent providers together so no member has to.
Founded in 2012, the National Association of Independent Home Service Providers began as a professional community of independent providers — plumbers, HVAC technicians, roofers, electricians, remodelers, cleaners, landscapers, and the many trades that care for America's homes. The association is now establishing its official home online at naihsp.org, with member accounts, programs, and resources built for the way independent businesses actually work.
NAIHSP was founded by Rafael Rodriguez, Jr., MBA, and operates in association with Total Source Network, whose family of companies supports the association's member services — from the member directory and continuing education to vendor programs and business resources.
Whether you run a one-truck operation or a growing crew, membership puts a professional association behind your business: representation on the issues that affect your trade, education that keeps you current, and credentials that tell customers you meet a professional standard.
Our Mission
“to be the recognized leader in the Home Service Industry by promoting the professional interests and business successes of its members through sound environmental stewardship, governmental advocacy, continuing education, and professional certifications.”

Advocacy
Rules written without independent providers in the room rarely work for independent providers. NAIHSP's governmental advocacy promotes the professional interests of its members — so the people who do the work have a say in the rules that govern it.
Regulation should protect homeowners and honest providers alike. The association promotes rules that are fair, workable, and written with the realities of independent businesses in mind.
Licensing protects the public — and it should be clear, consistent, and attainable for qualified professionals. Members get updates on the licensing and compliance issues that affect their trades.
Strong trades need a strong pipeline of skilled people. The association supports workforce development and fair access to opportunity for the next generation of providers.
Resources
